Ganondorf (Ganon in his alternate form) is the main antagonist of the Legend of Zelda series. Ever since the first game in the series, The Legend of Zelda, Ganondorf has been terrorizing all of Hyrule and planning to over-run it, only to be thwarted by the hero of the series, Link.

Early LifeEdit

Ganondorf was born in the Gerudo tribe. Females are always born in the Gerudo tribe, except for one male every hundred years. He was the male to come after a hundred years, and so he was born as King of the Gerudos. Even before Ganon was born, however, the Gerudos were plagued with terrible sandstorms and freezing cold. Ganondorf knew it was wrong for them to live like this, since Hyrule Field was a calm, breezy pasture while the Gerudos had to suffer. Ganondorf went into research of how this problem could be fixed, and during his research, learned about the Triforce--an object with so much power, anybody would be lucky to have it in their possession. Because of its enormous powers, it was heavily guarded in the Royal sections of Hyrule. Ganondorf was determined, and knew this was the answer to their problems. He worked his way up and became the King's advisor. From there, the trouble began.

The Legend of ZeldaEdit

In the first Zelda, Ganondorf's creature form, Ganon, makes an appearance. His plan is to take over Hyrule, and he even kidnaps Princess Zelda, terrorizing the once peaceful land of Hyrule. His plans go smoothly until Link comes along. Link faces Ganon in the Underworld, and Ganon is defeated.
