Rover is a main character in the Animal Crossing series and welcomes players into the games. Rover asks the players questions like name, date and time and town name. In Animal Crossing: City Folk he sits in the seat next to you on the bus to your town and you can sometimes see him having a cup of coffee in the Roost. Rover is an overall cheery character and wears a red argyle sweater vest. Rover is a blue cat with red eyes and has similar character design to other cats in the game.

Rover is a friendly and cheerful cat who is always ready to help the players. You can call him on your phone in City Folk to change options and he's always friendly towards you, even if you haven't played in a while.

In most of the Animal Crossing games, Rover introduces you into the games and asks you questions about things that get you started. In Wild World, Rover is still in the game but he doesn't introduce you into the game. You can still see Rover in the Roost and he sets up Tag Mode but instead, Kapp'n introduces you into the game.
